Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I just drafted and i dont have much baseball exp but i love my team.... i took all players i like, is it as bad as everyones saying? 11 team roto keeper league, R, H, HR, RBI, SB, BB, AVG, SLG..... W, L, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP and QS
OF- Carlos Gomez, Adam Eaton, Starling Marte
U- Gyorko, Pedro Alvarez
Bench- Kendrick, Billy Hamilton( Im gonna cut)
P- Jansen (toronto closer)
bench- boggs, clippard
If Gyorko, Eaton and Marte live up to the hype you might have a decent offense. I have both Eaton & Marte on my team as well. Kendrick is expendable. I would drop kendrick for an SP. Clippard is not a closer so I would drop him. I recently picked up Fujikawa. Cubs signed him for 2 yrs $10M and Marmol is on trade block. Even if Cubs can't deal Marmol Fuji will be the closer as soon as Marmol blows a save and he always blows saves. I'm not too sure Boggs is in the Stl rotation. If not drop him too for another SP.
Infield is pretty good. Outfield is pretty bad. Pitching staff is average.
If it were me, I'd dispense of Balfour immediately, seeing at how you've at least got two (maybe three) closers. Obviously Boggs and Clippard should get you some holds. With that roster spot open, I'd start poking around for another starting pitcher.
You've gotta pretty tough team..
Your outfield IS a little weak, though. And I'd dump Hamilton for a SP,,possible SPs I like are Scot Kazmir & Jason Hammel. And I'd dump Hendrick for an up & coming outfielder like Aaron Hicks.Hicks has the Twins centerfield job,and he has very good speed, and he hit 3 homers in 1 spring training game;So he has some power. The Twins traded away their old centerfielder to clear the position for Hicks.
Then keep a close eye on players as they are called up;Like Billy Hamilton (unbelievable speedster),Wil Myers, and Oscar Taveras (Has been compared to a young Vlad Guerero.)..
With the Ks,saves, and Ws categories it's always advantagious to have the largest quantity of closers & SPs possible; And the outfield isn't a hard position to upgrade over the course of a season.Your dope head opponents will make mistakes dropping players that are cold,and/or injured.Take advantage of those mistakes, and you may end up winning the whole kitten caboodle!
