I went super young in the latter part of my draft, Guys like Belt, Ackley, Marte, Eaton have a lot of potential offensively in my eyes and if even one of them breaks out or if several are serviceable then its a success IMO. Overall, what do you guys think, how's I do? Please consider the fact that we keep 10 players next year!

    • I love your outfield. Santana is a fantastic bounce back candidate. He was taken as the first catcher in many of leagues last year. Your SP is fair. The concern I would have with your team is two fold: You have too many youngsters to really have a chance to win this year; and two, the entirety of your infield may disappoint. Teixiera is not who he once was, Jeter is on his last legs, Weeks is a major injury risk and Headly has only performed in one year and may be due regression (although I would definitely not count him out).

I actually like the Zunino pick. The guy is going to be an offensive force in the league for many years to come. Many are comparing him to a young Javy Lopez. Belt is another player that I like. Hopefully he continues what worked for him in the 2nd half.

With a little luck and with a few of your youngsters breaking out, I think that you have the potential to be playoff bound. Not sure I would bet on it this year though.

      • Thanks for your in depth analysis! I agree, Santana is a solid bounce back candidate. With tex, he hit 24 homers in just over 120 games so I still see him as a viable 30+ homer guy barring injury. I think he's a good value considering that he should hit 30+ bombs, 100+ rbi and around 90 runs. He's a career .280 hitter although it's been hovering .250 for a few years now but I'm okay with that. As long as Jeter can hit around .300 and score runs I'm comfortable with him as well. Headley is a great value in my eyes, people dont buy into career years like the one he had last season but with fences moving in at Petco Park, I think he can make it through the next season with just a slight regression. As for Weeks, I pretty much had no options left and he fell pretty far so I picked him up just in case he can find whatever he had in the 2 seasons prior to last. My outfield is devasting and I expect them to carry me offensively.

I actually have more concern with my rotation. It could go really bad or really REALLY well. Kershaw and Weaver are going to deliver for sure. But I love the strikeout potential in Smardzija, Parker was solid last year and I expect more of it, Miley will be a steady producer even with a slight Sophomore season regression, Miller could be huge or could blow up in my face. I wish I could have gotten one more solid pitcher but I think I'll be okay.

If I were to make some trade offers, who do you think is despensable on my squad and what position should I target. (I would like to get a pitcher but I'm not sure my offense could handle losing anyone)
