What's the point in Mock Drafts?

I did a couple of these and none of the managers actually make it to the end, so it's not like the picks are legit.

    Anyone else notice this?

Seems stupid to ask someone to rate your mock, but that's just one man's opinion.

    • The practice is for your benefit alone. Yes having managers draft for the first five rounds and then go to autopick takes out a lot of the randomness, but it allows you the opportunity to adjust your draft strategy accordingly. Adjusting your strategy mid-draft is something you will have to do in the real drafts so why not get the practice in. Plus the mocks really do go by a lot faster when most everyone else is on autopick

As for having someone else rate your mock draft there are only two reasons I could think of doing it:

      1. You don't have a draft plan in place and you're looking for someone else to point you in the right direction.

      2. You just want to brag about what a great mock draft you had.

    • I agree it's frustrating to be sitting there drafting against an autodraft, especially in an auction draft. If you want a player, you basically have no choice but to bid $1 over the projected value until everybody's money is used up, then it reverts to a snake draft.

Having said that, last year was the first year my league went to a auction format. Doing a mock draft first really helped me with budgeting a lot. I ended up winning my league last year.
