Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'm leaning toward Heyward, Longoria, Myers, Dickey, Gio, and either Medlen or Profar.
That sounds good. Yes, your team may be a little weak this year with myers and pro far in the minors for at least a little while but you should be looking good in 2014. Dickey I think you have to keep, even if he's old. If it was between say bundy and dickey that would be tough, but dickey's been pretty good for a few years, and he's still got a few years left.

I would probably take Dickey over Profar but a part of me thinks I should only keep 2 pitchers. We'll see. I would probably drop Medlen (and keep Profar) and try to snag him later in draft, as Dickey and Gio will be early rounders for sure. Thanks!
Longo, Gio, Heyward, Dickey, Medlen, Profar ...note I'm a Yanks fan and don't buy into Ellsbury, but if you do then I guess I'd swap him out for Medlen. I realize, it always seems like it's easier to add pitching later, BUT, these are 3 very excellent SPs that make you instantly competitive. I think it's a year too early to roll with Myers who will only begin his major league campaign in Tampa after the all-star break at the earliest in order to keep his service time down. He will probably be good some day, but it is highly doubtful he'll have anything close to a Trout or Harper-like impact right away.

I absolutely LOVE Myers but yes, Tampa is going to hold him in the minors for a couple of months. I may very well keep those six and 1) draft Ellsbury if he falls enough and 2) try to over-pay a little for Myers so that I can stash him until he's ready.

Agreed and we'll see what happens. I'm on the edge when it comes to selecting 3 pitchers as a keepers, but that keeper staff would certainly be enough to ensure that I could focus on my offense early on in the draft. We'll see and thanks!
