Draft and Trade Talk Message Board

Im just wondering what some of you guys think about my roster and who I should keep for this year. I keep 9 guys in my league (ten teams) and while most of my nine are no brainers and having a hard time letting go of some of these guys; especially if i have to consider letting go a few of the following group; Bumgarner/Chapman/Bruce/Trumbo/Ortiz/Laroche. So let me know who you would keep and why it would be greatly appreciated. I just wanted to cut it down to 9 so i can start to formulate a draft strategy. Overall my team dominated the regular season and I finished first, but unfortunetly lost out in the semis after finally cooling down. tough to potentially give some of these guys up to other teams.

Hanley, Kemp, Trout, Kershaw, Philips, Ellsbury, Weaver. I would probably round that out with Bumgarner and Bruce, but others might have another opinion. Maybe Trumbo over Bruce? Trumbo may be losing 3b next year so that hurts his value.

Ortiz and Trumbo for 1b since that will be void of hitters to pick in keepers. HanRam,Kemp,Trout,Ellsbury,Kershaw,Weaver, and Chapman. A player I like for 2b is Josh Rutledge this year who is a more advanced at his age, approaching prime year, younger Brandon Phillips. He will play 2b bat leadoff, call Coors Field home, and bat ahead of Tulo and Cargo.
I think Rutledge is the biggest sleeper this year, but only because he calls Col. home and who bats behind him. Plus, in terms of where he should be picked, he will be 2nd tier in 2bmen behind Cano,Kipnis,Kinsler. Meanwhile all the 2nd tier guys are picked ahead of Rutledge. I think Rutledge is a 10-14 rd pick who will give top 5rd value. So thus dump Phillips keep the 2nd best RP in all of baseball behind Kimbrel -

Trumbo's eligibility depend in what format you use. In Yahoo it is 5 games. I think I heard one format (ESPN maybe or CBS) is as much as 20 games???
Trumbo played enough games to qualify at 3B last year on Yahoo so he should still be eligible there as well as OF. I don't know about 1B. As pointed out by someone else on another thread, Kendrys Morales backed up Albert at 1B last year for the Angels so don't know if Trumbo re-qualified even in the generous Yahoo's standard. But Morales is now with Seattle and Trumbo is more a DH who may well play 1B when Pujols has a day off or DH's himself. So Trumbo could end up with OF/3B/1B eligibility within a month in Yahoo maybe. Which makes him even more tempting to keep.
I agree about Josh Rutledge except I don't think he is a sleeper any more. He is getting hyped a lot already. In fact if someone in your league has him already he may become one of their keepers. I have him in a 12 man keeper and a dynasty league and he is staying right where he is with me this season.- View Replies

Thanks guys for all the comments, as far as Trumbo goes the whole thing comes down to whether or not he can play third base, basically he's no good to me in the of and I think I can still draft a 1b will similar production so he is no goo o me there either. I have toggled with the idea of dumping Phillips which may happen so that I can try to retain chapman or Bruce. Ill have to check out this josh Rutledge I've honestly never heard of him but will see what I can find.
