Playoffs start tomorrow in one of my leagues. At which point rosters will be locked and no 'adds' will be allowed. I've got a few options available for 'playoff depth' and want to know who I should keep for the home stretch.
League: 14 team, H2H Pts, keeper. (avg/ops, era/whip not included)
Zach Britton(BAL) - 2 start week, @TOR and vsNYY
David Murphy(TEX) - Highest OPS and overall pts in August/September. Consistent.
Delmon Young(DET) - Starting to hit the long ball. I've fallen into this trap before though. Tease.
Andy Pettite(NYY) - May not be activated till the 2nd/3rd week of playoffs if at all.
Travis Blackley(OAK) - Not too sure what his status is. He has moved from pen to rotation, but if he sticks in the rotation, he should have a two start week coming up.
Scott Feldman(TEX) - A bit of a question mark, but he starts for Texas so hey, it can't be all that bad.
Josh Collmenter(ARI) - This is a really deep pick. Just activated off the DL and should return to a long relief role in the pen. However there are rumblings that they could be switching to a 6man rotation which could benefit his fantasy value.
FEEL FREE TO ADD ANY OTHER 'DEPTH' PLAYERS THAT COULD BE RELEVANT TO BOTH MY LEAGUE AND YOUR OWN.
I love David Murphy now that he is an everyday player. Great lineup, great home ball park. I would stay away from Britton as I don't trust any Baltimore starters, terrible home ball park and the AL East to deal with. I would stay away from Feldman, he is on a good losing streak. I am in deep leagues where the roster locks also. I am contemplating Marco Estrado, Eric Stults, Andrew Cashner (not sure his role) and also keep tabs on Blackley. You can't go wrong with A's starters at the moment. They are playing greaet baseball. GOod luck
