    Pedroia/Infante for Cano = Fair?

I want to trade Pedroia and Omar Infante for Cano. I'm second from the top, and I have the constantly rotating 2B position between Omar Infante/Dustin Pedroia/Aaron Hill. My other positions are fairly solid, and my pitching is top notch. I just need to make sure I can secure post-season batting success, considering I've lost Melky Cabrera.

    Thoughts on the above trade?

    • Absolutely no way he accepts. In order to downgrade from Cano to Pedroia, he'd need a solid 2nd piece that would upgrade his team in some way. Infante does not do that. Trading a B grade player and a D grade player doesn't return you an A grade player. It returns you a B+ grade player if you're extremely, extremely lucky. 9 times out of 10, no one will downgrade at all if a player of Infante's calibur is the 2nd piece. there's just no incentive there for him to accept.

    • Unfortunately with Pedroia, I don't think his value is as high as it was pre-2010 due to injuries in 2010 and this year... I personally still think he is elite (and own him) but at this point Cano is inarguably the top 2B in the game. You aren't really helping his team at all, just pawning off your ever-shifting rotation/platoon to him and asking for a top infielder back... you would definitely have to part with a stud to acquire Cano...

    • Batting Lineup:

      1B: Prince Fielder
      2B: Pedroia/Hill/Infante
      3B: Freese/
      SS: Castro/Rutledge
      OF: Bourne
      OF: Revere
      OF: John Jay/Eric Young
      C: Santana/Ellis
      Util: Billy Butler
