Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'm a Fielder owner, and while he's still elite, i'd like to add some OBP and consistency to my team. Also being a homer, i'd love to upgrade to Votto. the other manager needs speed and 3B, will likely accept.
i send: Fielder, Bonifacio
i receive: Votto
i don't put a ton of value into Bonifacio, but I also don't have a ton of speed. with a deep BN, i feel like i can let Bonifacio go and simply add SBs elsewhere (Revere? Pierre if traded to the Reds?).
good move? i'll just have to come up with a back-up plan at SS until Tulo is out.
12-team H2H (- AVG + OBP)
OF: Bautista, Rios, Zobrist
BN: BJ Upton, C. Young, Bonifacio, Crawford

if i push the trade through, it'll open a roster slot. I'll likely add E. Cabrera and hope for 2-3 SBs a week, or i'll add A. Escobar for better all-around production and then drop Young for some SB help (Pierre or Revere). Young has great keeper potential in my league since he was drafted so late this year. that's why i haven't dropped him yet. but i can't keep rostering him on potential value while he's doing absolutely nothing on my bench.
Since Tulo went out, i've been taking a big risk by having no SS. i couldn't bring myself to drop Young or Crawford, and my offense had still been above average. Plan A was always to play Bonifacio there once he was healthy, but with such a long BN, i feel like i gotta trade/drop someone. Young and Crawford have little trade value in my league, so I started shopping Bonifacio. If this trade is accepted, it'll open a roster slot, and i'll likely add Alcides Escobar.
I'm not sure this is wise. A slight upgrade at 1B and you're left completely with a shortstop? Especially considering that Tulo may be out almost the rest of the year, I wouldn't make this trade unless I had a good option at SS first.
