Girardi does not give a rip who is earning what, or how much a guy is "exptected" to take over the closer's role.

He wants to win games. Robertson gives him the best chance to do so.

P.S. Soriano pitching the 8th inning in a game where Yankees down by 1 run. That is consistent with Soriano being the 8th inning guy and Robertson the 9th inning guy.
