Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
i was offered :
Freddie Freeman 1B Atl
Robinson Cano 2B NYY
Adrian Gonzales 1B Bos
Brandon League RP Sea
utley is my 2B and I believe his knees may be shot. I thought he was healthy going into his season, but I think he will be in and out of the lineup all year. My other option is Aaron Hill, not bad but not great. Both players are two season removed from being top fantasy options. I hate to give up Gonzales, but Freeman has a high upside. Any thoughts or comments before I hit the accept button? Thanks.
My belief is you don't trade a top, if not the top, player at a position where there are few greats for a 1b and RP!!! Cano is probably the best 2B so why would you trade him for a top 1b?? The tradeoff is not worth it to me. It is much easier to find a 1b then it is to replace a top 2b. Utley is a huge risk at this point and even when he comes back he will never be the player he was. Once you have repeated knee problems it is all down hill. His days of being a 20-20 guy are over.
I say take that trade now before he realizes it. Utley is not healthy, both knees are already bothering him. I would be surprised to see him play 100 games this year, or even 80. Freeman could hit 25 HRs with 80-90 RBIs.
You can find saves anytime, so I wouldn't be the least bit concerned about giving up League. You could always look to scoop up Balfour for Oakland (just named the closer) or Holland/Broxton in KC (since Soria likely needs Tommy John surgery).
