    Darvish, Latos or JJohnson?

Jason Johnson's injury history is too significant to be ignored. He has missed substantial time 3 out of the past 5 seasons, and has been shut down in September 4 times in 5 seasons.

So if you want a guy who is brilliant when healthy, but never healthy, and not pitching in September, then JJ is your guy.

Darvish is a solid choice. Great arsenal, but first year in majors, pitching in the AL in a hitter's park.

The best choice among those three is Latos, a young pitcher with a proven track record, and a guy who gives WHIP and K's at an elite level.

He was hampered with a rib injury early in 2011, but continued pitching (unlike JJ, who is shut down every time he is hurt). Over the last two months of 2011, Latos won 5 games, with a 2.50 ERA, a 0.94 WHIP, and 73 K's in 75 IP.

Low WHIP, high K ratio, good health record, young and improving, coming off a spectacular finish to 2011, moving to a better team (more wins).

He goes to a park that favors hitters more. So his ERA goes from the upper 2's to 3.25.

And that is a reason to go with a guy who is basically guaranteed to wind up on the DL at some point this year?

    • the question was for roto where injurys dont matter as much.
jjs injury history doesn't even bother me, he's an top 12 pitcher in the 9th round and at the price if he only gives you 160ip you still profit in a big way, anymore ip than that is just icing.

i like latos a lot this year as well though which is why i took both in one of my leagues.
