Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I draft tomorrow night. 12 team standard 5x5 Roto.
Seems the last couple years I've fallen short in SP cats and just missed out. No problem with the hitting side. Any tips on WHO and WHEN to target some favorite SP's would be appreciated. Thanks guys!!
I would suggest just grabbing the 4th or 5th starter from teams that are poised to win 90+ games. If you would have had any Texas Rangers' starter each of the past 2 seasons you would have done well enough. Similarly, any Tampa Bay, Boston, or New York Yankees' starter not named A.J. Burnett would have served you well. Within the first 2 weeks of the season you should begin to see who the dominant teams are...just grab their bottom of the rotation arms. Many of the Braves' arms look to yield good results this season and I think the Los Angeles Angels have good arms this season.
Vogelsong I hear you. Again the Santana's , Hanson's and Lester's come with some varying degrees of baggage. The trick is getting them very late or just passing on them . SAnchez is an enigma I have seen him pitch lights out and follow with a WTF effort.
Worley is a guy I like big time this year.
In late drafts every one remembers the Wainwright's and Pinada's. So at least grab 2 studs, Haren and CC usually and surprisingly can be grabbed.
Late guys I like
Standard Roto is worse, you have 1400 Max IP's. You need 3 guys that can semi carry a staff. People always put hitting before pitching, H & P cats count the same.
