Dick- would you consider Kipnis as a viable regular starter at 2B? E.g.: maybe move Utley + 1 for a SP or OF.

The draft didn't go as I'd hoped. This was my logic for my utility/bench players. Bourjos because he puts up double figure SB/HR and doesn't kill you with avg. Morales because he has 1B and OF eligibility and should put up decent numbers in a good lineup. Kipnis as a backup 2B with potential as .290 guy with double figure SB and HR. Edwin Encarnacion because I wanted one more 3B. Johnson because he was the best hitter available at the time. Pagan because he'll help with steals and provide a little pop. And Perez because he's young and has a chance to contribute to a young Royals team.

    • Kipnis is a viable regular starter at 2B in fantasy baseball but I wouldn't want to run with that.

Folks are undervaluing 2Bs and there are still 8-10 2Bs that should produce more dividends than Kipnis. Much like SS...the drop in production after the first 6-8 2Bs is huge. As such, I would try to make sure that I get one of those top 6-8 2Bs.

I would have avoided Morales. He is just a poor man's Nelson Cruz (minus the footspeed). Morales has plenty of pop, the average is suspect, and his durability is a concern.

Encarnnacion is a decent backup 3B/UTIL but there should be better options in the FA pool now that the draft is completed.
