    Predictions for Greinke

Thoughts on Zach Greinke for 2012? Looming free agency? Sans Prince and god knows what will happen with Braun? I still think he will be fine with the remaining cast of characters in Milwaukee. Still top 10 SP? Predictions for 2012 stats? Debating whether or not I should keep him.

    • Contract year, so I think he will do well. Only thing that will be hard for the guy is getting wins, but I believe his stats will be pretty good everywhere else.

    • Greinke 2012--14-9/231Ks/2.88ERA/1.07WHIP/0SAVES
Should you keep him? If you are in a league with hitter's only stats--NO. If your scoring includes pitching Cats--YES, unless you already have Halladay,Lee,Hamels,Verlander,Kershaw and Felix. But, if it is a Dynasty league I would keep him along with the others. I guess that all you are asking is if he is a good pitcher. YES.

    • Starting pitchers control three things - ERA, WHIP and K's. Wins are a team stat.

Draft SP'ers based upon their productivity in ERA, WHIP and K's. Greinke is stellar in those categories. He will win enough to give value in that category as well.

First, he is the number 2 or 3 starter (behind Gallardo and possibly Marcum), so generally he is not facing the opponents No. 1 SP'er.

Second, good pitchers on bad teams win games (like Gio Gonzalez, Felix, Kuroda in 2011).

    • I'd say borderline top 10 at least. Like the other guy said, a drop in W's is likely. He's still gonna rack up K's and have decent ratios.

I'm not a huge fan and will likely never draft him but I'd keep or trade him on a keeper squad, too much name value to drop in the draft pool.

    • with the loss of Prince and Braun its like he is back in K.C 12 wins is what I think top end
