Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Currently, I have a 3.5 point lead. I can gain an extra point or two if I can get a few more HRs.
Here is my roster:
3B: Aramis Ramirez
OF: Ellsbury, Braun, Soraino (added him a couple weeks ago to get possible HRs)
UTIL: Peralta, Hosmer
Bench: Pierre, Bourn, Tolowitzki, Derrick Lee (I had a 30 + lead in stolen bases and have the max points (12) in Avg so I've been benching Bourn and Pierre.)
SP: Gallardo, Hellickson, Beachy, Fister, Strasburg, Bumgarner
RP: Feliz, Walden, Peralta
I was thinking of dropping Soriano and adding Nolan Reimold (Orioles) since he's been hitting it hard lately. Mike Carp is available too to take the 3rd OF spot.
I can add points from the WHIP category too since the next person is only like .01 away (i have 1.25 while there are three tied at 1.24)
Since I only have 60 innings left, should I drop Beachy and add Greg Holland (Royals) who has a really low WHIP and get Ks as well. Sergio Romo too.
Thanks for the last week of advice.
I'd just suggest sorting the free agent pool by the last week and seeing who is in a power streak. Your base team has fine power as it is though. You can easily gain .01 in WHIP. Rather than play russian roulette with shitbum starters I'd find some stud set up guys and make sure that you have at least five of them plugged in every day from here on out.
I'd pick up Duncan and Reimold and drop Soriano (worthless even in fantasy unless he's on a hot streak - worthless all the time in real life) and Pierre (no HRs likely) if you have that big of a lead in steals. You may want to play your pitching matchups tight until you hit the last couple days of the season - remember ALL the stats count on the day you hit 1250 or whatever your cap number is.
