Getting hit in the hand with no structural damage and playing the NEXT DAY does NOT make you a "tough kid". I got hit in the hand by a 85 mph fastball from a 6'5" pitcher my junior year in high school (the guy was an all-district pitcher and went to college on a basketball scholarship)...I didn't miss any playing time. The coach checked my hand...he asked if I was okay...he asked me to make a fist...I squeezed his hand...and he asked if I could swing the bat...two pitches later I lined out into a double play (SS caught a line drive between 3rd and short wheeled and through out the runner at first who thought I had a sure base hit).
I guess what I am trying to say...BIG DEAL. He likes playing baseball and he is healthy. That is NOT the definition of a "tough kid".
