Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I just got offered Verlander for Uggla and immediately accepted, and now Im wondering if people in the league are going to veto it? Would you? (Im in first by 10 games at 126-60 and he is 4th place 105-81) I can obviously tell you there is no collusion here, but will the league believe this? and will my league be smart enough to the rule of "no collusion no veto"? (i guess you are not equipped to answer the last one)
I'm not a fan of the "no collusion, no veto" rule, but it seems to be the easiest to abide by (but seriously, how can anyone prove collusion - that's another whole topic though).
I'd push for this trade to get vetoed. Just because someone either gave up or doesn't know what he's doing doesn't meant the rest of the league should be put at a disadvantage: an unfair trade is an unfair trade, plain and simple.

refer to my first response up top. youre right, it is a different subject - but i do believe in it. Just like business law and contract law, it is not up to the courts to determine the fairness/value of a deal. Bc these items are ever changing and very subjective and personal.
I suppose I wouldn't veto the trade if you feel you need hitting and can afford to give up Verlander, but I value Verlander too much to give him up for a second baseman who isn't quite elite and is getting older.

Are you not under the belief that a manager is free to make an unwise bargain? It is not up to a commish'er or a group of managers to determine the fairness of a deal. Just bc a deal seems one-sided is not a good enough reason to veto it. There must be some type of collusion between the managers.
In REAL sports, trades get voided by commishes bc, for instance, the deal might be bad for the sport or bad for the team's fanbase and made merely out of business reasons. But in FANTASY baseball none of these situations apply, and the ONLY vetoable reason would be one where 2 managers collude/offer-a-kickback or whathaveyou for a lopsided deal. Just bc a "manager is dumb" doesnt make his "dumb deals" vetoable. it makes the rest of the league suckers for not trading with him first.
