Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Feel like you can get more, but do it quickly...
I rode Berk's hottness in April, thought of selling high but couldn't trade that type of production. Then he slowed down and his value was weak. Fortunately with 4 HRs last week (despite hitting .217) his trade value has heated up (possibly peaked) and I shopped him for a top tier starter and landed CC Sabathia.
At his age and recent history, selling high on Berkman is the smart thing to do and his value currently should get you a healthy productive player
Don't listen to the bone heads that replied earlier. If you sold Berkman for Bourn last month you are an idiot and the people you play with are laughing at you behind your back. Berkman is not a streaky player. He as good years and bad years yes but if he starts hot he finishes the season as an elite player in the league. I say keep him. Everyone needs help at 3rd and wright is a serious gamble so I would let who ever has Johan and Wright suffer. Don't reward him and give him a top 20 player.

I sold Berkman for Bourn in a dynasty league on May 1st.
On May 1st Berkman was hitting .393 with 23 runs, 8 HR and 22 RBI in 24 games
Since May 1st he has hit .250 with with 17 runs, 8 HR, and 24 RBI in 33 games.
Since May 1st Bourn .283 with 24 runs 1 HR 14 RBI and 16 SB
Yes I'm very happy with that trade. Berkman had a ridiculously hot April and nothing more, he isn't going to hit for average the rest of the year, I guarantee it.
