When you make a trade offer...always start low. You can go higher later. However, if he accepts a low ball offer...you come out ahead.
Never start high...you have no wiggle room. If he counters and wants more....you then have to go beyond your comfort zone or drop the trade idea.
Instead of Lester or Verlander...go with your 4th choice SP in your initial offer. If that isn't enough...then go to your 3rd choice. Only offer Lester or Verlander as a last resort.
