Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
i get to keep 5 total. just normal keepers, i don't get credit for the draft round of each guy. the choices are robinson cano, alex rodriguez, adrian gonzalez, kendry morales, matt kemp, carlos santana, josh johnson, zach greinke.
cano, a-rod, a-gon are no brainers, but who would u keep with ur other 2 spots?
do i sure up my offense by keeping morales and kemp? or morales and santana? or kemp and santana?
or do i keep JJ and greinke so my pitching staff has 2 solid anchors?
or do i keep one SP (j.johnson or greinke) along with either kemp, morales, or santana?
i'm very torn here. i have the 7th pick in the draft, which will start in the 6th round. so i'd probably get the chance to draft one of my non-keepers if i choose to do so. any and all help is very appreciated! thanks in advance to any commenters.
I'd go with Kemp and Greinke, I like JJ but Greinke in the NL could be just as effective and no arm issues to worry about ....yet. SP quality does matter in h2h with a weekly moves limit and the BB category. You can stream pitching and win W's and K's but you will likely lose BB's ERA and WHIP...Saves is a toss up.
Wouldn't worry about the K's from Kemp. Every team will have 1 or 2 guys with 140+ k's over the season. Not sure Kemp will get the average up to .285 but the steals and power should be there, no real speed to speak of with your other hitting keepers so you could use the SB's.
Geez, you're stuck on last years numbers... I have his projected K% at around 23%. That's a tad over 140, 145 I think. He's better than Howard and Wright. On par with Cargo and Fielder. A tad worse than Longoria.
I just named 5 top 15 players that are equals to Kemp. Would you keep Santana over those players? No. Why? Because it's just plain silly.
Kemp IS NOT the player he showed last year. There is/was SOOO much effecting his poor play, and all of that is gone now. Listen, I can only give you advice on who to keep, I can't make the decision for you.
Oh, by the way, his career BA was .300 going into last year. Now his career BA is .285. If you think he's a .250 hitter, then pass. If you think he's a .300 hitter like he was his first 3 years, then you keep him.

It's a H2H league, but there is definitely a debate. out of the 4 teams that have already stated their keepers, 6 out of the 20 are SP's. i've been told to keep carlos santana because i'm not sure if i'll be able to draft him. and i don' t want to be left without AT LEAST one ace SP. and kemp pretty much lost me the K's category since he strikes out at least once a game, that's my concern with kemp.
