Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Newly drafted autopick team. Got drafted a pretty pitcher heavy team. Any trade ideas? Who should I look to deal and what positions/players should I target? Any low ranked closers to look for in FA?
Standard H2H league, here's my roster:
OF-Jayson Werth, Jacoby Ellsbury, Curtis Granderson
Util-Michael Bourn, Adam Lind
BN-Adam Laroche, Manny Ramirez, Luke Scott, John Buck
SP-Roy Halladay, Jon Lester
RP-Daniel Bard, Jhoulys Chacin
P- CC Sabathia, Jared Weaver, Tim Hudson, Chris Carpenter
Wow, this team is awful!! Zero closers and awful at the two spots you need to be the strongest at and that's 1st and 3rd..Also util is Terrible. Sorry man, I only hope this is your first time playing...ouch
You didn't get drafted a pitching heavy team, you got drafted a Starter heavy team...you have no closers, period. Get rid of the 2 you have as RP's and Santana (won't open season with Mets, and then will be playing catchup). Huff, Cuddyer and Uribe in the same infield will be tough. You can live with one of them along with Cano. Try to find a better SS/3B, keep Uribe on your bench.
You have excellent SP depth, trade one of them for a big name 3B. Try and target Ryan Zimmerman or take a chance on Jose Bautista (since no one thinks he will repeat last year's success). Drop Juan Uribe - there has to be someone better on the FA wire. Huff is a decent 1B but you could really use an upgrade here as well, someone like Morneau or Morales would be possibly available for a decent price.
Your have arguably the best 2B and C in baseball, but your corner infielders are embarrassing. I would try to trade a SP for a power hitting 1B. Sabathia ranks close to Justin Morneau on yahoos rankings...
Other than that, maybe you can find a CI on the FA list...Carlos or Derrick Lee? Adam LaRoche? Lance Berkman? Matt LaPorta could finally breakout in Cleveland with a starting role.
