Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'm not projecting Votto to hit much more than 30 HR this year. Not because I don't think he can, but I want to temper my expectations a bit so I'm not disappointed.
102 R, 44 HR, 138 RBI, 3 SB, .275 BA
100 R, 31 HR, 110 RBI, 13 SB, .318 BA
I think absolute value is about similar. Value based on ADP will go to Howard for me.
Votto is the better bet, although as you mentioned, the sample size for Votto is smaller. Howard fell back into chasing the low outside curve last year. He'll need to correct that.
I believe Votto better his career avg of .314/86/19/94/9 and Howard will probably decline from his .279/95/42/124/2 average. Which means Votto will kick Howards a$$ in BA, SB and they'll be about even in the other cats. That is if Votto can reach the 550+ AB that Howard will.
