If by long run you mean the rest of the season, I would not drop Yunel Escobar or Alcides Escobar for Betancourt. Betancourt has had a pretty good season---for him---, but he is a greatly inferior player to either Escobar. Yes, he has been hot recently, especially with the HR, but I would not count on him staying hot. Look at his stats for the past couple of years. There''s a reason that he bats around 9th for the Royals. He really doesn't have much power or speed and can't draw a walk. Until Y. Escobar hit the skids in the first half in Atlanta, he was a player with a near .300 AVg., good OBP skills and power superior to Betancourt's and better RBI stats, too. Since joining Toronto, he's hit >308, albeit with not much power. To put it another way, I wouldn't trade either Escobar for Betancourt. I could give you ROS projections and look at why Betancourt is hitting so well, but why bore you? He's been lucky and his luck's going to run out.
