Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I am an experienced player and am willing to give trade advice. I should be here for a while. So ask away. I will try to give an answer with a description on why I think it is correct.

I would definitely take that deal. I would be very surprised if the other team accepts that. Yes you give up the best catcher in the game, but you are getting the best 2B, a young, high strikeout pitcher, and a top of the line closer (Wagner has been lights out). And you are not giving up much in Beltre, Figgins, and Qualls. Take the deal.

I am as high as anyone on Strasburg. I own him in a keeper league and I will not trade him, but in a one year league that deal might be a good move for you. For me Pena is nothing. So I am looking at it as Wainwright for Strasburg. I think that you have to take that deal. Wainwright is a top 5 pitcher. Strasburg definitely has that potential but I think the determining factor here is innings. Strasburg simply won't have the innings because of his limited pitch count to keep pace with Wainwrights production.

It depends on what categories you need help in. Obviously Eithier will get you more HR and RBI's. But without knowing anything about your team I would say no. Ethier was on fire before his injury but I don't know if he will be able to keep up those numbers. You know what you are getting with Carl Crawford. The only category Crawford really doesn't get you is HR, but he more then makes up for it in his high average, high runs scored, speed, and decent RBI totals. Keep Crawford.

I know my pitching is bad, i just need some suggestions for trades that i could make. I have Mcgehee, Hill, Hart, Choo, Coglhan, Rios, Molina, Pena, and Furcal. there is a team that is loaded for pitchers. Sabathia, Johan Santana, Hughes, Josh Johnson, Halladay, Billingsley, Liriano, and Brett Anderson. They have Posey as catcher, Outfield of Chris Young, Gardner and Stubbs, and they have Swisher at first base. What trades do you possibly see? Thinking maybe Hart and Coglhan for Anderson or Hughes? Maybe also Hill and Coglhan for Josh Johnson? Any other thoughts?

Wow he is stacked in pitching. Maybe Hart and Hill for Johnson but I don't know if he would be willing to do that. Its hard for me to say without knowing if you have any backup infielders that you could start if you give up some of your hitting. You could also try working in one of your closers. Maybe he would do Hart and Coglhan for Anderson, but if you can I would try trading for Hughes instead. I like him a lot more. And again Hill and Coglhan is good for you and if you could get Josh Johnson I would do it.
6 team h2h league! I am going to offer this trade to a guy in my league.
I give up
Have tex at first, outfield is weak, and can acquire a catcher easily. What do you think???
Santana trade...12 team keeper with contracts of various length - basically we end up keeping rougly 8 players year to year. League is H2H points based.
Currently in 1st place by 1 game. I could trade my 2011 1st round pick for Johan Santana (keeper eligible). My pick would likely be in the bottom 6 perhaps lower and the pool of players available would be a tier down from the usual 1st rounders in a standard league. Would you do the deal? Will Johan stay strong over the next year plus?

If it was me I would probably not make the trade. Santana is good but he is just not his old self. I think he will continue to put up solid numbers but its just too risky that he will get injured or fall off even more. If you are going to trade your first round draft pick I say you try to get lincecum, Jimenez, etc. More of sure thing. Even if you have to give up a little more then a first round draft pick. I think you will be better off then going for Santana.
Who do you think gets the upper hand in this deal.
Ryan Theriot, Denard Span, Marlon Byrd and Alfred Simon (15-Day DL)
For Aaron Hill and Cuddyer
I have Johnny Damon and Colby Rasmus sitting on my bench.
I am 4th place in the league and desperately need SB, .AVG and SVs.

I think you would probably be getting the upper hand in the deal if you are big need of average and speed. The only problem is I don't know how much Simon will help you in saves. He is no sure thing, is hurt, and also will have Mike Gonzalez comign back in the next month or so.
