What do you think of this trade?

I'm in a non-keeper roto league with nine teams including my own.

A few weeks back, I was looking for a solid OF and picked up Austin Jackson from the FA pool. Jackson was a great choice for me at the time, as I needed some runs and hits.

Another manager, who is a big Tigers fan, and stuck at the bottom of the league, hadn't picked Jackson up himself, but as soon as he saw I grabbed him, he offered to trade Hideki Matsui for Jackson. I like Matsui, but he's only able to play as a DH so far this season and I had better options for my UTIL position, so I declined.

Yesterday, I noticed that Jackson had started to go down in average following a few less than productive games, so I thought it might be a good idea to float a trade while Jackson was still hot.

I had planned to offer Jackson and Kosuke Fukudome to my Tigers fan friend for Carl Crawford. Then I remembered that he also had Nick Swisher on his team, and another manager was a die hard Yankees fan who had tried and failed to get Swisher from him. So I ultimately offered Jackson, Fukudome and Ty Wigginton for Crawford and Swisher.

This morning, I found that he had made me a counteroffer of just Austin Jackson for Swisher, and he had traded both Crawford and Justin Duchscherer to yet another manager in exchange for BJ Upton and Joel Zumaya. Incidentally, Zumaya had just been picked up from the FA pool the other day.

If my trade had just been rejected, I would have shrugged it off. But considering that the other manager seemed to be accepting less than I'd offered, I'm just wondering if it's just me, or if it was a weird move.
