Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
12 Team Roto 6x6 Money League
Have been trying to get Mark Texiera for the longest from this aloof owner. Every request I send he declines with no comnent or says interesting trade and rejects. I want to try one more time before Tex REALLY explodes.
Help me pick a nice package from my team below..
D-Lee(he picked from waivers today)
As you can see he doesn't have many desirable pieces besides some pitchers. He is in last place and struggling.
Guys help me out please, I'm willing to overpay some to get Tex. Or even sacrifice my pitching as well.
Thanks so much..
Your first mistake- falling in love with a player. Never do that. If you can get Tex fine, but I don't see the big need. You already have Morneau at 1B and he is almost as good.
If he likes Morneau you start with him, maybe he would take Vlad who has been hot. But I don't see why you are so urgently pushing it.
He is in last place, he needs to do something- try a reverse tactic ask him "what would it take to get Tex". And see what he says, he will probably ask for something crazy, but at least you know where his head is at. If he says forget it he simply isn't going to trade him.
He is probably thinking like you are- he wants to keep Tex since he knows he will get hot. I probably would do the same in his shoes.

Ok, guys thanx 4 the input, I'm gonna try a few 2 for 1s. If they go through I'll pick up Leake.
@Michael, your right falling in love with a player is the worst thing. It's similar to letting a girl know you like/love her to death and you two are not together. She will just use you and string you along for her own pleasure.
I'm a huge Yankee fan, and I know Tex is going to dominant throughout the summer. Morneau is very good as well but is an injury risk and fades after all star break.
I thank you all for your insight.

I like the 2 for 1 as well. Very acceptable trade. I would use Romero instead of Peavy and pick up another SP. Not sure who's still available in your league, but Leake or Jaime Garcia would be good pick ups.

I think this is a good starting point here. Not sure where Victorino will hit in the lineup when Rollins returns, so it might be a good time to trade him. I think Kubel will get it going before too long...
Kinsler, Morneau, and Rollins for Tex and Uggla. It is a bit steep, but Kinsler always looks enticing and Rollins will be a good upgrade at SS for him as well. Drew should perform admirably for you or you could go after Jose Reyes while he is still slumping to make up for losing Rollins.
