Ok I know Morneau has had issues in the past with his back, but he is off to a great start.
I have Morneau and am looking to package him with Billingsley (SP) & or Romero (SP) and throw in some steals via Podsednik or some power via Guillen (RF)
Is Fielder worth that much more than Morneau? I just question how much more...Prince is fat, out of shape and could easily fade out like his father did. Not to mention he isn't getting any pitches to hit and as result has struck out 17 times this year already versus 1 homerun. I am sure he will still hit 30-35 plus but will he strike out 150+ times too.
This is a keeper league, I have Morneau at 1B and have Berkman in reserves who I picked up as a throw in while he was on the DL.
Should I overpay for Prince and let Morneau go?
I should mention that I am the defending champ and 2-0 (winning this week too) to start the year with an excellent shot at winning again. So I am thinking of 2010 before 2011.
Fielder has much more value than Morneau, Fantasy-wise. Guys with bad backs scare me. There's injury risk and risk of breakdown with Prince in his career, to be sure. But not this year, right now, for you as a Fantasy manager.
Check out my post? Thanks!
Morneau ALWAYS starts off hot and then cools/get hurts after the break. Prince ALWAYS starts off slow and the gets hot after the first 15-20 games. Also, Prince is the only player to play in all 162 games last year. Not sure why people think he will fade. Prince is much more valuable than Morneau, and even moreso being that its a keeper....All of the guys you mentioned are off to hot starts, if you can get a deal accepted including any of the said players than you win big. Highly doubtful though.

Thank you for that, that's good advice. I may have caught the other manager with his pants down. He does need steals, does need a RF and he could use some help in his rotation.
Doubtful that he will make the deal, you are right.
But I want to know within myself that I am not making a stupid move and giving away too much for just 1 player.
Afterall I have 2 injury proned 1B's in Morneau and Berkman, what are the odds that they will both be hurt at the same time :p
