Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
i question this because of the following example:
different sites have rankings that are very different from each other.
Yahoo i think has pretty good rankings. but then CBS sports has terrible rankings. they have Hanley as the 14 overall player for example, and Matt Kemp as the 9th overall outfielder, behind guys like Granderson, Markakis, Zobrist, and Ethier.
i just did a mock draft on there and got Hanley as the 9th pick and Kemp at number 12 overall. also, i got Votto in round 6 because he's ranked so low on cbs sports, but in yahoo drafts he's always gone by round 3 or 4.
so... do you guys think doing these mock drafts will actually give you an idea of what you will get? or is it just more of a fun thing to do and your real draft will probably be nothing close to it.
check out my team from a cbs sports mock draft
i've done over 20 drafts on yahoo and i think cuz of the rankings, none is even close to this good.
the mocks are good to test draft strategy and get a general idea where guys will fall....ex: if you are in a 12 team yahoo league and draft in a 12 team yahoo mock.
with that being said every draft is unique and plays out differntly so the mocks can only help you so much every draft is not going to play out the same. like my real draft RP's went insanely early which never happened in any of the mocks I did.
