I didn't want this to get caught up in the mayhem of a busy thread, so I'm starting it off as a new one.

#1 Take a look at my team and name all the superstars you see.
#2 Notice that even though there's not many HUGE names, aside from Verlander and Braun, there is a lot of balance. There's weaknesses, sure, but my team is designed to have a lot of balance in every category. I have pitchers who can win and have low whips and high K's, I have young, dynamic hitters who can pound the ball and run like the wind.

When you draft a team, you absolutely cannot go with loyalties to your favorite team. When I first drafted my team, I had no 2nd baseman, no 3rd baseman, no catcher, a half-assed outfield and a sub-par starting rotation. I had to trade Prince Fielder to start getting things done, but I went ahead and did it anyway. You need to consider doing that with A-Rod.

C: Miguel Montero, AJ Pierzynski for the off days
    1B: Joey Votto
2B: Brian Roberts, Ben Zobrist, Maicer Izturis, Scott Sizemore - one of the latter two will be replaced with a backup 1st baseman/3rd baseman for Votto's (and Beckham's) off days
SS: Reyes, who will be backed up by Zobrist on his off days
3B: Gordon Beckham whose backup is TBD
OF: Ryan Braun, Jacoby Ellsbury, Justin Upton, Nyjer Morgan
SP: Justin Verlander, Jon Lester, Tommy Hanson, Jair Jurggens, Scott Kazmir, Wade Davis, Jeff Niemann
RP: Jonathan Broxton, Andrew Bailey, Rafael Soriano
