Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
12 team keeper league, H2H 5x5.
Hamels and my 1st overall pick
Tommy Hanson and his 4th overall pick
Here are the top players on the draft board:
Sizemore, Holliday, Adrian Gonz, Votto, Youk, Morales....
Im pretty sure he wants grady.
Lemme throw some Hamels stats at you real quick:
K/9 0.1 difference from 08, BB/9 0.1 difference, K/BB 0.2 difference.
0.55 BAPIP above his 08 number
What does this tell you?
HE IS GOING TO REBOUND.
Makes it a whole lot closer now doesn't it.
That being said I would still take it

Yea, I actually had read those stats. It does imply that Hamels was just unlucky alot last year. But his fall off wasnt the reason i wanted the trade. I dont like his home park, he has a bad relationship with the team, and there is always rumors about his elbow. Most of all really is that i just like Hanson. I think he is a beast. His K/9 in the minors was crazy.
I wouldn't do this deal, and I'd draft hamels ahead of hanson in a standard 5x5 roto league for this year.
Hamels rebounds closer to 2008 form, and wins 16-18 games minimum.
Hanson is great, but hasn't pitched a full year yet, you are buying on potential. He's close though.
So basically, you have to choose between
Hamels and Holliday
Hanson and probably Youk or Morales?
Hanson is much better than Hamels, but Holliday is much better than the other 2 options. Since you already have Braun, I may take the deal. I HATE having 2 OFs on a team before the draft. They are by far the easiest players to draft or pick up through the course of the year.
NO NO NO! A first round pick with that kind of talent on the board is worth more then Hanson straight up. Don't blow your load on the sexy item of the month (Hanson). Use your head here. The reason this offer has a short fuse is because he wants you to make an impulse buy before you have time to think about it.
