Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I just traded for David Wright two weeks ago for his speed and average. I am fine with steals (I have Abreu, Roberts, Zobrist, Theriot, and Beckham). Jake Fox is available in my league. Should I wait on Wright or should I pickup Fox now?
I am in 2nd place (2 games back) in a H2H Yahoo! Public league with standard 5x5 scoring.
SImple.. this is what you do.
Step one - Drop Brandon Webb
Step two - Place David Wright into the DL slot
Step three - Pick up Jake Fox
Step four - When David Wright is eligible to return from the DL, drop Jake Fox
Step five - When you have dropped Jake fox, place David Wright into the 3b slot.
Fox hasn't really been in Wright's league actually. The question here would be, would you start Fox over Wright when Wright is healthy? No...you wouldn't.
Last mo Stats:
Fox - 9r, 4hr, 17rbi, 0 sb,.270ave
Wright - 16r, 3hr, 11rbi, 3sb, .322ave
So if a few more RBI are worth having no speed production and a strong hit to your BA Fox is your guy.
Drop Webb, pick up Fox short term, DL Wright then cut Fox when Wright comes back, leave Webb on the FA list unless you're in a keeper, he's not gonna pitch this year. This is a pretty easy one actually.
first of all...drop webb...why would you keep him if hes not playing this year unless you are in a dynasty which you should state right away..put wright on the dl...and why do you need to pick up a 3b...put zobrist at SS, beckham at 3b, and pick up an OF...simple as that
Wow this is crazy. everyone giving you sound advise and you bash them because obviously you refuse to drop Webb (no idea why). If you are so dead set on dropping Wright then do it. And when someone else picks him up and burns you with him you'll regret it.
The smart move would be to DL Wright. Drop Webb. Pick up Fox. And then when Wright comes back drop Fox for Webb and Dl Webb again. Thus your roster is identicl as before but you lose zero production during Wrights injury. No one will pick up Webb when dropped. You dont have to drop an pitchers. so your whole point about extra roster spot on a pitcher is stupid. Since webb is on the DL. It is still a 1-1 swap
Mr. Young...you are an idiot. How can you base a comparison of Wright and Fox over a season's productivity ranking when Fox hasn't been in the majors for the entire season? Hell...that would be like comparing Wright and Beckham for the season. Beckham has outplayed Wright for the last two months. Similarly...Fox has been nearly as productive as Wright for the past month.
Let's try to make logical assessments...try again, Skippy.
