Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'm in a 10 team keeper league and will have to choose 4 players to keep for next year. Which 4 would you choose?
Lance Berkman (DL - 1B)
Alexei Ramirez (SS it looks like next year)
Aramis Ramirez (3B)
Troy Tulowitzki (SS)
Andre Ethier (OF)
Carl Crawford (OF)
Juan Rivera (OF)
Miguel Cabrera (1B)
Shin-Soo Choo (OF)
Jose Reyes (DL - SS)
Ian Kinsler (DL - 2B)
Ubaldo Jimenez (SP)
Chris Carpenter (SP)
Feliz Hernandez (SP)
Adam Wainwright (SP)
Jake Peavy (DL - SP)
I'd say Cabrera, Kinsler, Reyes, and Felix.
With Kinsler and Reyes, you lock up 2B and SS. Keep in mind that even with injuries and a low BA, Kinsler is still ranked #44 in the Yahoo game this year, and I think he's better than a .240 hitter.
You can argue for Crawford, but with Reyes and Kinsler (hopefully both healthy), Crawford becomes overkill in speed. Not saying he shouldn't be considered. You can argue Carp, but given Felix's age and progression this year as well as Carp's injury history, I think Felix is the safer, higher-upside choice. Again, that's just my opinion and one can definitely make a strong case for Carp and Crawford.
