Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
The A-Rod owner in my league is looking to trade for Beltre or Longoria (I drafted both for this kind of situation). Would you give up Beltre and Russell Martin for James Shields and Carlos Santana? I could use a upgrade in both catcher and SP.

I like it. This is a great opportunity to take advantage of someone willing to overpay to replace an injured player. Sometimes owners trade too much in a desperate move to fix an injury issue. I think that is the case here.

In a keeper league, I think Tex has more long term value. I say this for three reasons. Number one pitchers are more likely to get hurt than position players. Number two Tex is younger than Lee. Number three Tex is will always have great hitters around him to help his numbers. I like Lee, but I think he may have 2-3 more great years in him. After that I think he will still be good, but Tex I would say is better long term.
I just lost arod and I have Aramis Ramirez but I got proposed a trade
I give Verlander, Aramis, and Helton
I get Braun Santos and Papelbaun
II added valencia and nunez for 6 weeks.if I pull the trigger
Should I accept

Verlander is dominant. I think you need Aramis too much right now. I have a similar problem with Wright, and I've regretted not having quality at 3B. There isn't much reason to move Aramis. I would only do this if you desperately need saves.

Hughes is crap, Jurrjens is a strikeout killer. Pedroia will be great second half. Santos is a good closer. I like package B. Votto is fantastic, Wright should be back in a week or so. These two are both first round picks. Walker has a ton of RBI's and can play two positions. The only thing that worries me slightly about package B is the possibility of Heath Bell being traded at the deadline. Someone might want him as a set-up man, and he would therefore lose his saves. That said, I still like B. The only way I would do A is for Jurrjens if I needed WHIP and ERA desperately.

Your hitting is good. You might need some strikeouts. I think you might try to flip Karstens for some strikeouts. I think you could sacrifice a little bit on his WHIP and ERA to get another strikeout pitcher. You have enough other pitching to hold the WHIP and ERA down.

This will help you in both stats that you need. I think you might miss stolen bases from Kemp. As far as Maholm, he is expendable if your are starters are good. I think it looks solid. Just consider steals and the rest of your starters.

I think you would lose here. Mauer is a guy I would want on my team second half. He is hitting better, and as the twins get healthy, that will help him. Don't bail on Quentin. He goes in streaks. He gets hot for awhile, and then cools off. Don't let his cold spells get to you also. Zobrist's versatility is very valuable. In return, Abreu is getting old, and doesn't have a ton of upside. Joyce's career numbers don't really support him having a big second half. As much as I like Santana, Mauer is stronger. Gordon I do like, but I think you are better staying put.
