Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I've been offered Markakis and Burnett for Billingsly and Werth. My pitching stats have been great; my offensive stats not-so-great.
My SP is:
DL - Smoltz
My OF is:
That's really tough given how great Billingsley has been and how awful Burnett has been so far. I also don't know if Burnett's personality will let him fit in in NY, just like it didn't let Randy Johnson fit in there.
I'm also really high on Werth personally, though I know many people who aren't. But I think he's very much 20/20 potential. I think you'll be fine with Werth, and Ethier will turn it around for sure if you can ride out 'til Manny comes back. I might try and get a better pitcher on his end rather than Burnett, or else I'd maybe offer Wainwright instead. Otherwise, I'd say no deal.

I was high on Werth too... but I'm a little worried that he's being exposed now in his conversion to a full-time guy, and the league is starting to figure him out. Between he and Ethier, my .AVG and .OBP have taken a beating over the last few weeks.
yeah I would go for it. I think werth is overrated and burnett is going to be on a solid rotation and team. markakis gets more opportunites batting in the 3 hole than werth in the 2/6. billingsley is solid, but the rest of your staff covers it. i would drop sheff by the way, how does your infield look?

My IF is:
C - Flores
1B - Berkman
2B - Hill
SS - Reyes
3B - Sandoval
IF - A-Gone
Adrian and Flores are new editions. I also have Andy LaRoche in and Alberto Callapso in UTIL roles.
Sheffield is getting middle-of-the-order at bats and probably will until Delgado comes back for the Mets. He has some value now. But I'll keep a close eye on him for the age to catch up on him.
