Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'm no expert but I can tell you I know a lot about baseball and wont give knee jerk reactions. If you want honest old fashioned advice ill give it to you.
Ask me your questions!
Ok. I've been thinking lately that I need one more big name to get me over the hump and in to a chase for first place. I think I need a big name outfielder with power. I'm currently in 4th but I have been there for a few weeks now and can't seem to make up ground. Should I try to trade for that big name player or wait it out? Here is my team:
Bench-Russell Martin, Hank Blalock, Russell Branyon, Vladimir Guerrero
SP-Wainwright, Buehrle, Lowe, Slowey
RP-Soria, Mike Gonzalez
I think I need power & RBI with average instead of average and SB from Morgan and Pierre. What do you think? Who should I go after?

Rather than going after a BIG name guy that will cost a ton for you to get you should go after a guy like Choo who has HR/RBI/AVG/SB... then you get all the stats and wont have to give up as much.
However if you are dying for a big bat... Dunn could be had as well as Braun or even Soriano if you pay the right price.
If you want to be conservative... you could go after Sizemore and get him cheap. He should be on the DL for another 2 weeks but when hes back if his elbow calms down his slumping but still has been hitting for HR/RBI.
It all depends how much you want to spend...
Im in a H2H 10 team league and currently have a underachieving or power lacking offense what would you try and do to make this a better all around team. The best power hitters available in my mind on th FA list are Scott Hairtson, Hank Blalock, Cody Ross and Travis Hafner who is coming back Fri. Would you pick up any of these guys for any of my players, try and trade some pitching for hitters or let things be? I have also made it so I have at least one backup at every position b/c we can take players in and out daily. Thanks in advance and here is my team and the league catagories.

I mean you can only get so much out of free agency. Hafner has said publically his shoulder is still in pain which is a bad sign. I dont have high hopes for his return. On the other hand... If youre lacking hitting you should trade pitching. I would trade one of your closers and one of your SP for a power bat. Like Wood and Cueto for Pena... that would definetly benefit you and you can easily find more saves in FA's as opposed to HR's.
I was offered the second trade and am thinking of offering the first one. Tell me what u think?
I give Beltran,Aaron Hill and Washburn
I get Halladay and Hunter
I give Beltran, Hill and Soria
I get Kemp and Victorino
Get: Justin Upton, Cain
DYNASTY LEAGUE. Which is why I want Upton. Hefty price, but I think in 2-3 years hes the best player in the game. I just hope it doesnt screw me for the short term, cause I am competing in my league this season. Do it?
If u wer givin up Cano as part of a bigger package which would u take
Ludwick/Rios/Papelbon or A Hill
I have 3 good OF's CRUZ/Beltran/A Soriano
I have B Phillips
And I have good Closers
Hill will play util and backup up BP (if he goes on DL)
OF will play util
or Paps would be GREAT trade bait in my league

If you want to trade high... and just replace Cano then take Hill but if you do that there really isnt a point to making the trade at all unless you just dont like Cano... Hill and Cano are basically a push.
However, if you want some trade bait and players to package in other deals take the other side.
Either way both are good offers.
Jakes tradeproposals (Players to Trade)
(Cle - OF)
(LAA - SP)
yeezy FUCKIN' baby (Players to Trade)

i have wandy rod and cueto. i just really dont know what to do with them. keep them? or package them together and get a better SP, if so who to target? also need an OF, who could i get for those two?
