Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I made this trade a few days ago, before A-Gon went off.
I send: Juan Pierre and Michael Bourn
I receive: Adrian Gonzalez
The team I sent it to is 8th in SBs and would easily move up to 3rd in SBs in a roto league.
I basically have a monopoly on SBs with Jose Reyes, Carl Crawford, Willy Taveras, Michael Bourn, Chone Figgins, and Juan Pierre. My goal all along was to trade to someone desperate in SBs for a big bat.
Well, I sent out the trade thinking they would counter and they accepted it. Then, I thought it would be vetoed but it's passing 5-1. Now I feel guilty. Should I use my LM Review powers to veto it? I know it's pretty big of me to veto my own trade, but I'm feeling pretty guilty.
I say just compromise with the league and plug Taveras in there instead of Pierre after the trade goes through. I think the league will agree.
As a Commish, you can basically swap the players without "re-proposing" the trade. I think it's reasonably fair after that, but you are still winning, hands down.
when did gonzo go off? he hit two dingers last night and another on monday...sounds pretty 'on' to me. maybe i'm misinterpreting you.
bourn and pierre for gonzo is fair i think. you give away 80 SB, 200R, 300 avg, maybe 150 RBI, 15HR and you get 3 SB, 80R, 280 avg, 100 RBI, and 35 HR.
you're losing a tough category but you have it to spare. and you're getting some power. and gonzo is on track for a career year.
If you have SB's stacked with your roster then you did nothing wrong. Bourn isnt too much of a hitting threat just SB's. A Gon is doing well and is the best hitter on that team without a doubt. Dont feel guilty at all. Good deal
Okay! Cool! It's just that I don't know how others perceive SB specialist like Pierre and Bourn. I value them a ton because there are so few of them. This trade worked out because I have all of these SBs and the team I traded to has 0. And they have Adrian Gonzalez, Carlos Pena, Derek Lee, Aubrey Huff, and Jorge Cantu at 1B with bad OFs, so the trade does really help.
