    who wins this trade?

I Get: Sabathia, Beckett, Rolen, Giambi

He Gets: Burnett, Lowe, Swisher, Blalock, Taveras

Taveras is in there because his team is lacking steals. I am trying the whole buy low, sell high thing here, but is this pushing it?

    • i should probably mention that right now swisher, and blalock are sitting on my bench. And I just picked up fowler which means that taveras is expendable as well.

      This is 10-team (5x5)
      My team right now is:

      C: Sandoval
      1B: Miggy
      2B: Lopez
      3B: Aramis Ramirez
      SS: Young
      CI: Konerko
      MI: Tulowitzko
      OF: Soriano, Beltran, Granderson, McLouth
      Util: Adam Jones, Taveras
      Bench: Swisher, Blalock, Fowler

SP: Burnett, Vazquez, Harang, Lowe, Mahlom, Millwood
      RP: Soria, Jenks, Wilson
      Bench: Price
      DL: Webb

So i figure if I'm benching this guys anyways I as might as well upgrade my pitching...even if I do lose the trade.

    • becktt and cc will be fine.... do it

    • wouldnt want to let go of swisher.. givin up too much on just hope that cc and beck turn it around

    • Yeah, I think you gave up too much. If Beckett and CC turn it around, they will be better than Lowe and Burnett. But Burnett and Lowe in themselves are still extremely good pitchers who will give you a low-3 ERA, double-digit wins each, and Burnett will give you a ton of Ks. The CC/Beckett side gets more Ks, but all-in-all, unless CC gets back to last year's form, the gain for you is marginal.

On the converse, you gave up a TON of hitting. Rolen is injury-prone and over the hill, and Giambi is.....well......just like Rolen. You'll be lucky if either is healthy all season. Meanwhile, Blalock looks back to form and is in a ridiculously potent Texas lineup, and the same goes for Swisher with the Yankees. They may not keep up their current pace, but in the long run, they should easily put up better #s across the board than Rolen and Giambi. Taveras isn't really the deal-breaker, but I'd say all-in-all, the downgrade in your hitting overrides the upgrade in your pitching. I'd try and either up your return or reduce your investment.
