    Brandon Wood

They call him up from AAA but he has yet to have an at bat. What's the point of calling someone up and not playing them

    • lol million dollar man and your 2 cent opinion- what an ignorant, dimwitted dope you are. so you basically agree with this poster and his logically formed opinion, yet lambaste the guy for it, and then completely reverse your stance altogether?

it seems you are now countering that wood is as hard headed as you are and has failed to learn any plate discipline at the minor league level, yet you support rewarding him by bringing him up to the major league level?? yet, you again paint him as too flawed a player to get everyday at-bats, and applaud scioscia for benching him. but then again, you counter he's gonna be used as bench depth. but ultimately, the guy hasnt even been used as a late inning pinch hitter yet, and scioscia has no concrete plans as to when he does plan to use him... just what the hell ARE you trying to say????

and btw, im sure the angels brass did exactly as you suggested and called little brandon up and "asked him where he wants to play", to put it in your own words. are you f*cking sh*tting me???? LMFAO!!!

    • Good to know you're on a first name basis with Brandon, and have asked him yourself. Besides, it's not about what he wants; it's about what's best for the organization. Right?

Again, I have no problem with anyone disagreeing with my opinion.

I just, in general, don't like jerks.

Which is probably why I don't much care for you.

    • ask brandon

do you wanna play in AAA where you have nothing to prove and are too arrogant to take a walk or learn the strike zone. or do you wanna play in the bigs???

i wonder what he'll say. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

major league teams do use their bench. get a freakin clue. im done with you. grab another bottle of scotch and pretend youre cutting warlocks heads off you highlander you

    • Oops! Double post. Mea culpa.

    • Did you just call me a fish? Really? A fish? That's the best you could do. Okay.

And I find it terribly amusing to be called "stupid' by somebody who can't punctuate AND REGULARLY TYPES IN ALL CAPS.

Sir, you take to logic and rational discussion like oil to water. I'd challenge you to a battle of wits, but it is obvious you have come unarmed.

And for the record, I believe my first post made it clear I was not talking about Wood's fantasy value. In my opinion, and in the opinion of many commentators/pundits/scholars of the game, an organization should not bring up their "top prospect" if they have no plans of giving him regular playing time. I acknowledge happily that this is only an opinion and anyone who chooses to disagree with it certainly may do so.

Now go ahead and call me some other type of random animal and insult my intelligence. I'll just be sitting here, laughing at the irony.

    • its called sarcasm you fish

any big league time is rewarding for him. shut up already. you are stupid. mike scoscia knows how to run his team. YOU DO NOT. quit acting like his job is to please your fantasy wants.

do coachs play the game to please you? is that how it works now? cheese n rice. some ppls children

    • *Sigh* Although I loathe the idea of trying to be logical with you...

"riding the bench in the bigs is worthless and you cant learn anything."

This was kind of my point. Why bring up your top prospect to ride the bench? They may as well have just kept him in the minors if he wasn't going to get ABs.

"this team doesnt have anything to compete for, who needs to win a baseball game?"

If that's true (and it's not), then you may as well play the top prospect at the Major League level. If you're being sarcastic (which we all know plays so well on the internet), well... the Angels are in the middle of the pack compared to all other MLB clubs in most offensive stats... except for .SLG and HR. If Wood can provide some of that (as his minor league numbers indicate he potentially could) why not slot him in and see what he can do, as long as other guys on the roster are hurt and/or struggling?

"get a brain and dont kill it with alcohol"

Thanks for the tip. I assume you speak from personal experience?

    • The angels needed another cheerleader on the bench.. lol

    • yeah, stick him in there so he can strike out a bunch of times. this team doesnt have anything to compete for, who needs to win a baseball game? lets just stick Wood in the minors for a few more years where he wont get any better at anything. riding the bench in the bigs is worthless and you cant learn anything.
