Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
My offense has started the year in a terrible slump. Can I survive trading Peavy for a bat? Here's my pitching:
RP - Broxton
RP - Lindstrom
DL - Smoltz
DL - K. Escobar
Thanks for all the input, guys. I think I'll stand pat a little longer. (Well, I won't make any big moves.) If you saw how ice cold I started, you'd understand my concern. Lost 13 pts. today alone; I'm in second-to-last at the moment. Plus, I am NOT a manager who likes to stand still; I make moves and usually end the season at the top of the transaction list.
But I think I'll stand pat... for at least a little longer.
Thanks again; any other thoughts, feel free to share!
I would only trade Peavy if you could get somebody like MARKAKIS or RAMIREZ. In that case, you might need to trade Peavy & another hitter for one of these guys. Endy CHavez is on fire right now and Inge provides some Offensive flare at 3B/OF. GOod luck! Plus I think Fowlers going to have a good year, just that he might not start everyday.
dont trade peavy ... i dont know what your lineup looks like but its the first week of fantasy baseball dont get to anxious and trade everyone away thats started out slow ... your team will come alive if you have a decent lineup ...
Trading Peavy might be a mistake this Early...Not everyone comes out of the gates on fire, In one of my Leagues i have Jake also, Give it some time and then decide, Peavy is a stud, and u always give studs time, There are a couple arms on your roster that might possibly go down to the D.L before midseason and then you might be shit out of luck...Good luck

I agree with your points, but my slumping offense is as follows:
I'm thinking that dealing pitching is dealing from strength, 'cuz I need some bats... also thinking of flipping Reyes for Miggy (the Miggy owner in my league loves him some Jose.)
You should be able to get a Third Round bat for Peavy, but I like what was said earlier about getting a solid bat and another pitcher.
Maybe Carlos Quentin, Carlos Lee? Maybe even Ryan Howard or Soriano.
