      P Zack Greinke
      P Brad Ziegler
      P Jason Motte

      BN Clayton Kershaw
      BN Jordan Zimmermann

Offense is clearly my strong point. Once A-Rod comes off the DL and Wieters get called up in May, my hitting should dominate. Even without those two I think it'll hold its own in April.

If Jason Motte wins the closer job for the Cardinals, I'll have 3 closers, so should be fine there. I think my weak point is starting pitching. This is a roto league, not h2h, so that's why I only have 5 SP's.

Do you think my team will contend as is? Should I start looking for SP depth now or should I wait until the season is underway?

      • First of all Motte was named the closer on wednesday according to ST Dispatch as Perez isnt 100% he has good stuff so if he doesnt struggle he will keep it. Offensively I dont see alot of speed. I mentioned a few names and youdont have to scroll up very far to find it in my replies. Kelly Johnson can hit for average but 8 SBs perhaps which hurts you. If Felipe Lopez of Ariz is available he would help you out he stole 30 2years ago and 40 3years ago but was hurt last year so those stats are form mid=season on. Kirk Gibson is working with him onthe basepaths since Ariz wants him to leadoff with his steady bat. Hottest 2nd baseman in spring ball is perhaps Alexi Casilla of MN. He has a good a bat as Johnson and stole 50 bases in minors 2 years ago and Gardy has him running this spring and batting near .400 with 5-6 sbs. So check in on them and make sure Felipe is 2b eligible too. Yeah Salty can bang a few homeruns it seems in bunch of 4-5 then his bat goes dead for couple weeks. Playing floor in Arlington gets up around 110 so that doesnt help in thesummer. Not real big on rookies or untested 2nd year players, etc so good luck with Zimm. If Ziegler keeps his job then DeVine who isnt 100%will have to go but they seem to share saves. Then you need to find one more starter later when they get a few starts under their belts look for somebody who is 4-1,,,,,,,,for example.....with lots of Ks well........27 or so. with 5-6 walks maybe......yeah when ARod comes back healthy you will have plenty of power for sure,,,,,,good luck

This is a thirteen team 5x5 roto league, it was weird bc a lot of pitching went really early. How do you think I did?

      • Yeah when you are talking 12 teams or more pitching REALLY becomes a premium. You have decent pitchers and might pick another one up later. Good balance of power with speed so just watch your pitchers and see whats out there come May afterthey have all pitched 5-6 turns. good luck......not bad at all for 13 teamer.............goodluck,,,,,,,,,,,gary

      • Well I hope Duscherer comes through and gets healthy. He puts up good stats and you really need him. Same goes for Gallardo he should have decent numbers and basically is Milwaukee's ace since Sheets is for for sometime. Hoffman and Percival are both hurting so keep a watch for a closer. I dont see Percival closing forever he just cant hold up but lets see what next couple weeks brings for both. See if Chris Ray, Motte, Ziegler are available. Motte is closing for STL and
might be available but not likely anymore. Ray would be my next shot since his velocity is back and Sherrill is struggling bad for Balt. Ziegler is Oaklands man for now / Goodoffense for certain.........hope your pitching comes through,,,,,,good luck

I know that my pitching staff needs some work, and I'm working on it.
I currently have a trade offer on the table:
      I give- Bobby Abreu
      I get- Michael Young

Any thought at all would be helpful, thank you

      • Can I tell you something? With that offense you took in all the early rounds.....you bounced back late with the best you could really do for SPs. Its not all that bad. If Cris Carpenter is still available he appears back with STL and had a good spring he was their #1guy coupleyears ago. Your relief pitchers Perez for sure is a "wait and see" in StL as Motte gets the nod unless he screws up but should as he has good stuff. Arredondo has great stuff but is setup as well. If you have holds in your league then he would probably have to stay. You do need to find one solid closer. I assume Michael Young is SS eligble playing at 3b i am pretty sure. You are giving up 20 sb for little more power and dropping more team speed in that category. Its your call but you will go down a few rungs in SB category and you could use more speed. If you pull the trigger go get CoCo Crisp from KC for help or somebody similar. He is worth 25 for sure now that he will play everyday in KC. Its your call. Or keep the SS you got on the bench,,,,,,either way. good luck
