    Kelvin Escobar. Pls. Help

Personally, I picked up Escobar on my FA wire as soon as the draft was over and I saw no one had taken him. He may be a little sluggish when he returns to action, but if you look over the last 3 seasons that he pitched (2005-2007), he had no worse than a 3.61 ERA and no worse than a 1.28 WHIP in any of those years. Over that time, he has about a 2:1 K:BB ratio and averages 5 K/6 IP, so he's solid there as well. Then consider that he may end up at the back of the Angels rotation with them having Lackey, Saunders, Ervin Santana, and Jered Weaver, so that means matchups against pitchers of lower caliber than him and, potentially, more wins.

It depends on the full terms of the deal for both sides, but if you can hang on to him, I would.
