Would an offer of my david ortiz to get his Arod be paying too much?
standard 12 team yahoo league...
First off it is weird that you suggested David Ortiz for A-Rod. I'm not sure a Red Sox player will be advisable to offer to a person who has A-Rod. Is the person a Yankee fan?...does s/he like the Red Sox? If it's a roto league I would not trade for A rod....if it's a head to head league than I would trade or draft for him. I would naturally try and sell my starting third baseman for A-rod and maybe a last guy on my bench pitcher. if it's head to head you can survive for a month with a free agent third baseman. Then you have A rod for the playoffs...win win for both teams...and the other guy gets a third baseman that has the potential to play all year....However you have a very weak third baseman on your team so I'm not sure if it will work in your case.
yeah, you can try it but i doubt it'd go through. ortiz is on the decline as well. it'll be especially tough if it's a head to head league since arod will only be out the first four or five weeks of the season
