Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I asked this question yesterday but I thought of a better way to ask so please bare with me.
I am in a 10 team keeper leage, where we get to keep 6 guys.
I am currently in 3rd. Here is my team.
1b d lee
3b m cabrera
of quenton, beltran, crawford
bn alexei rameriz, ian steward, jerry hairston
sp cain, peavy, lincecum, volquez, liariano
rp wood, jenks, morrow, raunch, shields
I have been offered Manny, Soria, and Webb for Crawford and lincecum.
Q1 - would u do the deal
Q2 - if you did the deal who would you keep?
Q3 - if you didn't do the deal, who would you keep?
Please help, any input would be great.
i'd probably accept cause it makes your team better this year and could give you a good shot at winning the league. it also won't hurt your 6 keepers.
i'd want to be keeping infielders and pitchers. they always seem to be the hardest spots to fill out.
my 6 would be reyes, cabrera, peavy, webb (lincecum if you don't make the trade), soto and then probably quentin in that order.
alexei ramirez is tempting cause i think that when he plays a full season at 2B his numbers will be huge but you would probably be able to score him in the draft a few rounds in making it a waste to carry him over.
Yeah I would do the deal Manny > Crawford and next year he is probably gonna be a DH so he will just have 2 focus on hitting. I would rather have Lincecum in a keeper but Webb is slightly better now. Plus u get Soria.
I think manny is underrated if he really did not play his hardest in Boston the last 2 seasons he could easily be a 40/120 .300 player in LA the league is getting more hitter friendly too.
webb was the best pitcher in the league in the early part of the season and last year he's great
soria gets lots of saves.
i think lincecum is overrated his baa and whip is too high for a pitcher that's suppose to be easily better than santana, peavy, and harden. with the giants he doesn't get many wins either.
crawford is the only reason id have to think twice about this trade. he's usually great in the second half, i remember last year he was ranked something like 150-200 at the all star break and about 30 at the end of the season. he's a second half player and if he's playing for a contender he could be even better. they say he's injured but i'd still get him.
the manny, soria, webb side wins.
