    The Prospect Expert is back

David Price will be up the beginning of August at the latest. If everyone in the rotation excels to the point that he isn't needed (unlikely) he'll come out of the bullpen, because you can never have enough lefties in the bullpen.

Ross Detwiler isn't even close to the top prospect, he's probably not in the top 20 or even the top in the organization. Detwiler has struggled all year and from what I've read scouts like Aaron Crow (the Nationals top pick this year) better than him. The top pitching prospect other than Price is probably Trevor Cahill who has a similar arsenal to Brandon Webb.

JA Happ I don't really expect that much from, he only has the stuff of a 3 or 4 in a major league rotation and he's playing in a bad park for pitchers. If he sticks he could be a decent source of wins with the offense behind him but I wouldn't expect an era under 4. Honestly, it's more likely that the Phillies make a trade to fill the last rotation spot than give it to him for the rest of the season. And if Carlos Carrasco gets hot or Bret Myers rights himself in the minors Happ would be out right away.

It's hard to predict with Bush, as with most high school picks his secondary stuff lagged behind his fastball in quality. He might make it as a pitcher but he lost a lot of development time and is currently hurt. It will take a lot of work and you'd likely be looking at 2011 at the earliest he'd make an impact in the majors.

Homer Bailey isn't finished, he's only 22 and still has electric stuff. That might need to smooth up his mechanics a little bit to improve his command but its way too early to write him off.
