    The Prospect Expert is back

How about the Mariner's farm system? I know the guys, but don't know who they compare to in the future. Triunfel, Clement, Balentien (Becoming less attractive of a prospect.) Aumont, Josh Fields?

Also, rumors are floating around about teams interested in Bedard and one i saw was The Cardinals and Rasmus' name came up. What are the chances they trade him to Seattle for Bedard or what are the chances Bedard grabs top prospects from any team?

    • I think Triunfel is too young to compare honestly, he's still only 18 and isn't showing anything offensively. Clement is supposed to be a Varitek type and should be when they get the whole situation figured out. Aumont has top of the rotation stuff but he's raw and behind the development process coming as a Canadian high school draft pick. Balentien showed some skills but was more of a prospect based on production. He's probably only a 4th OF. Fields was a college closer drafted as a senior. With a quick sign and good minor league showing he could be a September callup this year or be up midseason next year.

I do not think Bedard will be traded. And if he is, you aren't going to get back nearly as much as you gave up for him. Chris Tillman is an early candidate for minor league pitcher of the year after being a centerpiece in the deal. Bedard is still worth top prospects. But you aren't getting two of them and good reliever for him and I don't think the team is moving him already for a deal where they get back a lot less than what they gave up. Bad PR right there.

    • Bedard probably won't be getting any Rasmus type prospects but you could get a Chris Marrero kinda guy.
