I don't think he'll get full playing time. The Rangers are loaded to the teeth with catching (Saltalamacchia, Taylor Teagarden, Max Ramirez) and 1B (Chris Davis, Justin Smoak) prospects. I think Teagarden will get called up and they will split time to showcase both of them for trade. Ramirez, Davis and Smoak are too good to move.
Teagarden has unimpressive numbers this season, but his power has been coming on lately, and last year had a monster season hitting .310 with 27 HR and 83 RBI as a catcher.
To compare that to the others, last year Ramirez hit .304 with 16 HR and 82 RBI and is following it up by hitting .363 with 17 HR and 50 RBI so far. Davis will be another minor league player of the year candidate (if he stays in the minors long enough), hitting .342 with 23 HR and 72 RBI. He will likely be up by the all star break and will fill the opposite 1B/DH slot of Blaloch when he returns to the lineup. I don't like Salty's playing time at all.
