    Bishop Sankey or Terrance West?

    Who to draft?

    • Sankey has a timeshare role pretty much guaranteed while the outcome in Cleveland is pretty murky. Tate likely starts but has a strong injury history, and, while I don't see Dion Lewis as more than a role player, he's going to get passing game work. So West likely sees insufficient work to be startable for now but he figures to have value during the season, likely more than Sankey once he gets the chance at significant work.

Whisenhunt has consistently maintained Shonn Greene is the starter and has been a critic of Sankey's footwork, ball security and pass protection, among other issues. Yet Sankey is now getting some first team work and was the subject of (muted) Whisenhunt praise after one game. What is Coachspeak trying to motivate the rookie and what's real is hard to parse. It's difficult for me to imagine Shonn The Plodder as the lead back but stranger things have happened. Sankey is dropping in the mocks that I'm doing and I have no hesitation taking him as my RB4, sometimes 3. To me, despite his potential, Sankey is too risky to take as a starter.

    • yeah i took them both as well, west several round later.
both are expected to be lead runners on their teams, but sankey earlier than west.
hard to read about these guys though cause every analyst has a different story.

    • I'd go with Sankey. He was already trending toward being the lead back, and now that Greene tweaked his bad ankle again he (Greene) may be losing even more ground to Sankey.

But like Scott said, you could very well end up with both of them. West has been available very late in most mocks.

    • I drafted both, but Sankey is my RB3 and West is my RB4. So, that should tell you that I prefer Sankey a bit more.

West has Tate to compete with in Cleveland. With Bishop, it's not really a competition between him and Shonn Greene or Dexter McCluster.
