Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
My league favors the QB with 1 pt per 20 yards passing and 6 pts per passing TD. With that said, do Peyton, Brees, and Rodgers become first round picks in this league? Where would you take them? Is there any QB going later that you think can be a candidate to rack up yards and TDs outperforming his ADP? Thanks.
All depends on the number of teams and where your draft spot will be.. If you have a later pick and one of them is there go for it. Always nice to have a sure shot starting QB every week.

Agreed. I am not high on Romo coming off of surgery, but I am extremely high on Matt Stafford this year. I think he has the chance to make the jump from Tier 2 QB to Tier 1. A ton of weapons, and a pass happy offense. Their defense is not good, so they will be behind a lot, or having to score a ton to stay ahead. Stafford is a guy I am targeting in many leagues this year, especially leagues that are 6 pts per TD. I will scoop up the good RBs while everyone else reaches for the top 3 QBs, and then I will take Stafford in round 3 and be a happy man.
I think in a league that has a scoring system skewed towards QBs, Manning and Brees may be first rounders, depending on how many teams are in your league and where your pick is. In a 12 team league, I'd be surprised if both are not taken in round 1. In a 10 team league, there is a chance that only Manning is a 1st rounder, although I'd bet Brees is taken there too.
If you pick in the top 5, I would not take a QB. I'd go RB. Even at 4 or 5 you can still get Forte or Lacy in most cases. If you pick in one of the 5-10 or 5-12 slots, I may consider taking a QB in a league like that. The later you go into the round, the more a QB is a good option.
One QB that I think can put up near elite level production at a cheaper price is Matthew Stafford. He should put up huge numbers this year with the weapons he has, and he is a bargain considering you can get him after the big 3 QBs are taken.
