Good team aside from weak starting WRs. To be honest, although it's usually a bad play to draft a 2nd QB in this fashion, Newton was a steal in whatever round you drafted him in, and you now have trade opportunities to upgrade your WRs. since Netwon is a top 5 QB himself, I would see what I could trade for both of them and target a WR1 and good WR3 or similar.
I don't think you are necessarily weak at WR, but you are banking on Patterson and Maclin breaking out this year. They both DEFINITELY have the potential to do that. If they do, your team will be very competitive. If they don't, you could be in trouble. I do like James Jones as a 5th receiver. A lot of people are overlooking him, but he is going to be the number one option in Oakland. They are gonna have to throw a lot to stay in games, so I see Jones potentially having a big year.
I think your strength at RB, QB, and TE are good, but I would not have drafted Cam as your backup. If you have a guy like Brees, you don't have to draft a high profile backup. That is a classic mistake that people make. A guy like Andy Dalton would have been sufficient, and you could have gotten him much later. You will never start Cam over Brees, so there is no reason to take a backup QB until late in the draft. That pick could have been a good WR or a better RB. QBs and TE's are similar - If you get one of the few elite players at those positions, you should not draft a backup until late in the draft. Unless it's a bye or injury, you should never have to replace your starter at those positions if he is elite.
Extraordinarily weak at WR due to the early picks at RB, QB and TE. A quiz: last season, the number of RBs averaging 17 points per game in PPR scoring vs the number of WRs so scoring? Hint: 1 position had roughly 1/2 as many. Another hint: it's another reason to draft WRs early.
