Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Which RB would you want in a PPR Dynasty... and why?
Donte Freeman (Atl - RB)
Khiry Robinson (NO - RB)
Jeremy Hill (Cin - RB)
This is a long term league so I can afford to let one "grow" at the back end of my roster.
I think Freeman has the best road to touches, long term. I think he'll be the lead back next year in Atl... Hill will be the best guy this year, and could easily get 215 carries. But he has no PPR upside and will be second fiddle to Bernard for a while... Robinson is the wild card. He's the lead back in NO, from what I'm reading. They don't seem to focus on the run though. Question is, is it a strategy or is their hands forced with no quality backs?
I'd go Hill. Easily. BJGE will barely see the field, Gio will start the season as #1, but Hill will get some snaps. He'll also get most of the goal line snaps. And don't totally discount him as a receiver, it's not his bread and butter, but he doesn't have stone hands. He'll be okay there. By midseason, he'll be the starter and nearly-every down back.

Disagree. I like Hill's skills a lot and I think he complements Bernard very well. In fact, Hill is likely hugely undervalued right now in redraft leagues given the run first nature of this offense and Hill's likely role as a short yardage and goal line back. But, why do you want to own a "committee" back instead of a likely 3 down back that Freeman promises? Gio Bernard isn't going away, but the 31 YO Steven Jackson certainly is. In Dynasty you look for the long term, not this season's RB3/4.
Freeman. That will be his job as soon as Sjax cramps up, which won't be long. Worst case he doesn't get much action this year, but takes the starting spot next year.
Hill is gonna get a lot of work ahead of BJGE, but, like you said, Gio will cut his touches down. Hill will be the goal line/short yardage guy, Gio the passing down/screen pass guy.
Robinson MAY be the most talented of the 3, but will he ever see the ball is the question.
I say go with Freeman.
